Tarpaulin 2013
Tarpaulin is a fabric of construction that acts as a midway point in our everyday. The textiles association with concealing new forms is here exaggerated as it becomes the structure itself. Moving, it invites the viewer to join Tarpaulin's celebration of mundane cloth and vision of building as an exciting, contemporary craft form. Borrowing ready-mades, sourcing materials and replicating techniques seen in construction sees 'Tarpaulin' feature over 30 metres of hand stitch replicating mass production. It was made to constantly exist in a state of industrial process for Neo:Arts exhibition 'Through'.
