OPEN

OPEN is the second collaborative work by MidConversation. Produced as part of Free For Arts Festival 2012, OPEN serves as a search for both audience involvement and temporary form. Confronted by a sea of exposed vibrant geometric nets, the viewer is invited to build their own structural landscape through moving, stacking and manipulating the shapes before them. MidConversation’s ongoing commitment to skill and labour-based work is highlighted in the consistently seamless shifts of its aesthetic. Encouraged by its playful, mechanical state, the participator builds and dissolves the work’s form, reconstructing it as they desire. As they do so the contributor momentarily becomes the artist, in a space where no opinion is wrong.
